The Chess Club of the Vaal Triangle Campus of the North-West University (NWU Vaal) is hoping to revive students’ interest in the sport and by doing so increase the number of chess players on the campus.
Remember these names: Thembekile Malindi, Yaw Adjare Danquah and Russel Bevis. These three young entrepreneurs are headed toward the big leagues and have their sight set on reaching the final round of the 2016 rendition of the popular Unilever Africa Idea Trophy Business Competition.
On Wednesday, 31 August 2016, the Department of Student Counselling and Development (SCD) together with various student bodies and community organisations will host a silent protest to draw attention to South Africa’s gender-based violence epidemic.

This is the message that the final-year Social Work students of the Vaal Triangle Campus of the North-West University (NWU Vaal) are conveying through their community-based ‘Monna Tseba: Men’s rights are human rights’ Project. The project forms part of an internship students are completing under the auspices of the Department of Student Counselling and Development (SCD).
