Serenaders celebrate coming of age with performance

The NWU-Puk Serenaders recently celebrated their 21st anniversary with a celebration in the Sanlam Auditorium on the Potchefstroom Campus of the North-West University (NWU). To celebrate their existence since 1994, the Serenaders invited acclaimed performing groups to join in the excitement.

The line-up included the Pioner brass, Voices of the river from the NWU Vaal campus, Bandura express (winners of the Pukkie Talent Festival), the very famous PUK Amici, Gospella and the PUK Serenaders. The show had the audience on their feet.

Learners from various schools in Ikageng attended the event and clearly enjoyed every second, as well as a number of guests of honour from the community.

Mr. Nkosinathi Tom from NWU Puk Arts and also a former member of the  Serenaders, said he was very impressed by the standard and quality of all the performing groups. He said that they definitely want to host another opportunity next year for all the groups.

At the present moment the choir stands as number 1 in the Old Mutual National choir festival league in the North West province. The choir will further continue with the preparations for the national elimination that will be held in Bloemfontein on the 12 and 13 of December.
