Romanticism at its best

Johan Van Zyl -- Fri, 10/17/2014 - 09:24

Lovers of Romanticism who didn't have the opportunity to attend the concert of Brahms chamber music during the recent Aardklop Arts Festival, are in luck because the programme will be repeated on Tuesday 21 October 2014 at 19:30 in the Conservatory Hall. Three of the performing staff members at the NWU School of Music, Piet Koornhof (violin), Human Coetzee (cello) and Waldo Weyer (piano), will perform Brahms' Piano Trio no. 3 in c minor. Violist Elmarie van der Vyver from Pretoria will join them for the monumental Piano Quartet no. 2 in A major.

The well-known music critic, Thys Odendaal, praised their excellent ensemble playing at the Aardklop performance.
