Prof. Banie Boneschans is head of the Centre for Pharmaceutical and Biomedical Services (CPBS) and is responsible for the overall management of service-delivery units that are operated as independent business units within the CPBS. He obtained the degrees BSc (Pharm), MSc (Pharmaceutics and Pharmaceutical Chemistry) and DSc (Pharmaceutics) at the former PU for CHE. Following a brief stint as forensic analyst at the South African Police Service's forensics department he accepted an appointment as research scientist at the School of Pharmacy in 1979 and was subsequently promoted to senior lecturer in 1983 and to professor in 1987. His research focused on finding solutions to pharmaceutical and bioavailability problems. In conjunction with co-workers at the University of Zagreb in Croatia he participated in several national and international conferences and authored or co-authored a number of scholarly reports and publications.
