NWU Vaal Open Day 2016 – bigger than ever!
The annual Open Day of the Vaal Triangle Campus of the North-West University (NWU Vaal) recently saw in excess of 3 500 learners from across the country in attendance.
Not even the cold weather and the accompanying rain could dampen the spirits as the Campus community welcomed the visitors with open arms and friendly smiles. The 2016 rendition of the Open Day was bigger than ever before and saw several marketing activations leading up to the day. The most exciting activation was the launch of the #Firstyears2017 Selfie Competition that is being run on the prospective students’ Facebook site aptly named: NWU Vaal First Years 2017.
Because the Open Day took place on a Saturday, learners weren’t rushed for time and could therefore make the most of the experience. Prospective students – and their parents, had the opportunity to experience the Campus first-hand, and find out more about the different degree courses offered by the North-West University. Each Academic School furthermore hosted information sessions to advise learners on admission requirements, curriculum outcomes and the application process.
Various support divisions such as Bursaries and Loans, Residence Administration and Marketing and Communication were also at hand to provide relevant information. Since life as a university student is about more than just academic endeavours, various support departments and student bodies showcased their services by means of displays and demonstrations.
Diarise these dates
It is important for all prospective students to take note that the closing date for all selection programmes – such as Social Work and Law, is end of June whilst all other programmes close at the end of September 2016.
