NWU Vaal Open Day 2015 – put yourself in our picture!

The annual Open Day of the North-West University's Vaal Triangle Campus (NWU Vaal) is almost around the corner and prospective students and their parents or teachers should diarise 16May as a Red Letter Day. The Open Day will take place from 09:00 – 14:30 and all interested students are welcome to come and find out everything they need to know about being a student at the NWU Vaal.

Open Day 2015: bigger en better than ever before

The 2015 rendition of the Open Day is set to be bigger and better than ever before with several marketing activations leading up to the day. The most exciting activation is the launch of the #Firstyears2016 Selfie Competition that is being run on the prospective students’ Facebook site aptly named: NWU Vaal First Years 2016. To enter the competition – and stand the chance to win a brand new tablet, all you have to do is join the above mentioned Facebook page and take a selfie whilst wearing your school uniform. Post the selfie – together with your name, the name of your school and your desired field of study on the page and motivate your friends to show their support by liking your picture. The more likes you get, the better your chances become of walking away with the first prize!

What to expect at the Open Day

Because the Open Day will take place on a Saturday, you aren’t rushed for time and therefore you can plan ahead and make the most of the experience. Prospective students will have the opportunity to experience the Campus first-hand (which is situated in Hendrik van Eck Boulevard in Vanderbijlpark), and to find out more about the different degree courses offered by the North-West University. There will also be dedicated information sessions per Academic School to advise learners and parents on admission requirements, curriculum outcomes and the application process.

Various support divisions such as Bursaries and Loans, Residence Administration and Marketing and Communication will also be available to provide relevant information.  We understand that life as a university student is about more than just academic endeavours and therefore a dedicated exhibition space has been identified to showcase the various organised student activities on the Campus.

An Open Day offers prospective students the perfect opportunity to familiarise themselves with the academic offerings at hand and by doing so they are guided towards making informed career choices.  Please note the following Open Day checklist: application fee (R150), two ID photos and certified copies of either your grade 11 or most recent grade 12 results, your ID document and the ID document of a parent or a guardian.

The closing date for all selection programmes – such as Social Work, is 30 June 2015 whilst all other programmes close on 31 August 2015.
