NWU Vaal Campus welcomes alumnus back as junior lecturer

Thapelo Chachaa - an alumnus of the Vaal Triangle Campus of the North-West University (NWU Vaal), recently rejoined his alma mater as a Junior Lecturer in the Department of Labour Relations within the School of Behavioural Sciences. He completed his undergraduate studies in Industrial Psychology and Industrial Sosiology in 2009.

Thapelo grew up in Klerksdorp where he completed his matric in 2006. He moved to Vanderbijlpark in 2007 to follow a degree in Industrial Psychology and Industrial Sociology.  After graduating in 2009 he enrolled for a postgraduate degree in Labour Relations. Since then he was worked as a graduate within the South African banking sector, during which time he was based in Port Elizabeth. He quickly climbed the corporate ladder and was promoted to Human Resources Business Partner.

According to Thapelo his desire to complete his Master's degree and to inspire students - regardless of their background, led him back to his alma mater.  As a Junior Lecturer in the Faculty of Humanities, Thapelo not only aspires to serve as an inspiration to his students but also to be one of the best practitioners within his field of expertise. "I want to ultimately make a meaningful contribution to the society, and what better way to do so than by strengthening the impact of my alma mater."
