NWU once again asserts itself at Pendorings
The finalists in this year’s Pendoring advertising awards have been announced and of the 18 finalists in the student categories North-West University boasts five students that have reached the finals of this prestigious competition.
From more than 300 entries 77 finalists have been nominated for the award event. Adjudication of the entries was performed by two panels: one for entries in the Afrikaans categories and one for the truly South African category.
Altogether 20 agencies produced finalists, and the University of Johannesburg also has four finalists in the student categories. Another tertiary institution, namely the Vega School of Brand Leadership’s Pretoria and Cape Town campuses jointly produced three finalists.
Big prizes are at stake in the Pendoring advertising awards and the winner of the Prestige Award will receive a study tour worth R50 000. The client will also receive free media to the value of R2 million. Another prize to be awarded at the gala evening is the Umpetha Award of R20 000 for the winner of the truly South African category. The overall winner of the student categories will leave the stage R10 000 the richer. The winners of the gold and silver categories of the Pendorings will receive prize money of R6 000 and R2 500 respectively.
