Karin is passionate about evidence-based practice and improvement of the quality of nursing and midwifery care. Her current research program focuses on facilitating kind and compassionate care during childbirth with specific emphasis on continuous support during labour. She has an additional qualification in advanced midwifery and is an experienced lecturer in Midwifery and Research methodology. Karin participated in the pilot of the Maternal Child Nurse Leadership Academy (MCHNLA) presented in North West Province and was again a faculty advisor for a mentee-mentor dyad in the first cohort of the academy when it was expanded to other African countries.
