CTrans - a hub of translation and professional language services
If you are a lecturer, an author, a PhD student, master's degree student or any other student for that matter and you never know where to get help with language editing or translation services, this article is for you.
CTrans - short for Centre for Translation And Professional Language Services, is a language service provider based on the Vaal Triangle Campus. They render srvices to local and international clients in all eleven South African languages as well as some European languages.
They offer translation, proofreading, subtitling and editing of both dissertations and theses', using only the most highly experienced, qualified and competent language practitioners.
"As a registered corporate member of the South African Translators' Institute (SATI), we make use of qualified, experienced language practitioners who are sticklers about meeting deadlines and delivering good-quality work," says Karien (one of CTrans' managers). They can translate and edit any text be it books, journals and pamphlets.
A document sent tot hem for translation will be charged according to how well it is written, the length, and how soon it should be sent back. "There are processes we follow to get the documents ready, for translation, they go through translators, and then through to quality controllers to check for quality in case there are mistakes," explains Karien.
The CTrans group does not re-write the work given to them; they improve it, in terms of spelling, grammar, and language. Their goal is to have a wider range of clients and still be able to serve them on time. To contact them, you can send them an email at: firstname.lastname@example.org or email@example.com or call them at (016) 910 3485. You can also visit them at www.nwu.ac.za/vtc_ctrans Their offices are in Building 7, Room 202 on Campus.
