NWU Business Centre hosts certificate presentation ceremony
A certificate presentation ceremony for Short Learning Programmes (conducted in 2015 for 120 individuals) was recently held by the Centre for Business and Management Development (Business Centre) on the Mafikeng Campus of the North-West University (NWU).
The function took place on 7 April 2016 at the Hotel School in Mafikeng.
The recipients of the certificates were from provincial and local government and the general public. The courses covered various subjects which range from advanced computer literacy skills, customer care and service delivery, human resources, mentoring and evaluation, occupational health and safety and project management.
Among the attendees were the campus vice-rector Prof Lumkile Lalendle, dean of the Faculty of Commerce and Administration, Prof Sonia Swanepoel, and the director of the Centre for Business and Management Development, Prof Jan Meyer.
The guest speaker, Prof Yvonne Du Plessis, congratulated the recipients on their achievement and urged them to use the new knowledge to the benefit of their organisation and the community.
“Ask yourself whether you gained valuable skills through this learning programme, and if so what contribution are you going to make with those skills,” Prof du Plessis added.
