Black Generation Y male students’ fashion consciousness the focus of unique doctorate study
In her thesis, "Black Generation Y male students’ fashion consciousness and need for uniqueness", Dr Matebello Dieketseng Bethsheba Motale proposes cheap ralph lauren and empirically tests a model of the influence of the need for uniqueness, as a personality trait, on black male Generation Y students’ fashion conscious behavior. This unique study within the field of Marketing Management came to the fore during the recent Autumn Graduation Ceremony of the Vaal Triangle Campus of the North-West University (NWU Vaal), and saw the degree Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) being conferred upon Dr Motale.

According to her Promotor, Prof Dr AL Bevan-Dye, the findings from this study will aid marketers in better understanding black Generation Y male students’ fashion conscious behavior. Furthermore, the recommendations provided, propose marketing strategy guidelines tailored at effectively targeting this important market segment.
More about Dr Matebello Motale
Dr Matebollo Motale was born in Vereeniging in the Gauteng Province. She matriculated from Riverside High School in Three Rivers in 2001. In 2005, she completed a BCom, men ralph lauren u s polo and the following year an Hons BCom. In 2008, she completed a Master of Commerce in Tourism Marketing. All three qualifications were from the North-West University (Potchefstroom Campus). The title of her Masters dissertation was: The social impact of arts festivals – the case of the Klein Karoo National Arts Festival.
After completing her Masters, she worked at various corporate establishments in Johannesburg, first as a personal assistant, then an executive assistant and later an admin consultant, ralph lauren kids outlet during the period March 2008 –June 2010. In July 2010 she joined the Department of Marketing and Sport Management at the Vaal University of Technology (VUT) as a lecturer.
